This bird and bird cage are almost as lovely as the real thing! Hang it in your child's room or on the porch.

What You'll Need

  • Plenty of string or yarn
  • Balloon
  • Scissors
  • Flour-water glue
  • Construction paper

  1. Blow up a balloon.
  2. Dip a few feet of string or yarn into the flour-water glue, and wrap it around the balloon.
  3. Repeat until you have wrapped enough yarn around the balloon to look like a cage.
  4. Allow the balloon to dry.
  5. Pop the balloon and throw it away.
  6. Attach string to the cage to use as a hanger.
  7. Print out a bird template or draw your own bird.
  8. Cut a few inches of string, and tape one end to the bird's neck.
  9. Hang the bird inside the cage.
  10. Admire your intricate bird cage!
