Chocolate Popcorn Clusters - Family recipes for kids

A perfect companion for watching movies and parties, this crunchy, crispy and delicious snack is easy for the kids to make. Help them build confidence in the kitchen at an early age. They can impress their friends with the treats they’ve made!

What You'll Need

  • 12 litres plain popped popcorn
  • 750 ml peanuts
  • 425 ml chocolate chips
  • 250 ml syrup
  • 50 ml butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 150 ºC. Grease two large cookie sheets.
  2. Pour peanuts and popcorn into bowl and mix together. Pour chocolate chips, syrup and butter into a pan on the stove.
  3. Melt the second mixture on low heat, stirring until smooth.
  4. Pour second mixture over popcorn and peanuts. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Take mixture out of bowl and place on large cookie sheets. Bake for 35 minutes, stirring ten times.
  6. While in oven, line a cookie sheet with oven paper.
  7. After 35 minutes, take the mixture out of the oven. Dump mix on oven papered sheet. Let it cool. Break up and serve!

Recipe makes 3 litres.
