Paper Plate Masks

4-6 year olds | one hour

Make these masks for dressing up, acting or Halloween. They’re simple to make and require materials you’ve already got lying around the house.

What You'll Need

  • paper plate
  • scissors
  • markers
  • feathers
  • sequins
  • string
  • glitter
  • crayons
  • glue
  • elastic
  • stapler

  1. Cut out two eye holes in each paper plate.
  2. Give the paper plates to your little ones and let their imaginations run wild.
  3. Once they are done decorating the masks, staple a piece of elastic around the back of the plate so children can wear their masks around.

Fun Tips:

  • String is great for hair, buttons for noses, hard candies for mouth, and feathers for headpieces or eyelashes.
  • Don’t feel like these masks need to be people. Birds, tigers, aliens and other creative creations make great masks!
