Snowy Trees

7-10 year olds | half hour

Make a miniature snow landscape scene in your living room.

What You'll Need

  • 2 large twigs
  • 1 block floral foam
  • 1 sheet white felt
  • scissors
  • glue
  • white paint
  • pen
  • paintbrush

1. Search for twigs outside with your child. Pick twigs that have many branches on them.
2. Stick the two chosen twigs into the foam block. Remove.
3. Place felt over foam. Find holes, mark with pen and cut out.
4. Glue the felt onto the floral foam. Trim so that the felt is flush with every side of the foam block.
5. Place a bit of glue onto the bottom of each twig. Place back into holes.
6. With a thick paintbrush, apply textured paint to the ‘trees’. Use your fingers to get rid of big clumps. Apply lightly, to look like snow dusting.
7. Allow the set to dry for three hours and display.
